Blended Learning MOOC

Beginning January 5th, Concordia University Wisconsin will offer a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on the topic of blended learning. For those of you unfamiliar with the concept of at MOOC, it is an approach to education where people people from around the country (even around the world!) build a temporary learning community around a shared interest in a particular topics. There is no cost to enroll and no penalty for failing to complete different course activities. Learn and participate as much or as little as you want. Completing learning activities in this MOOC will earn one digital badges, but seeking out these achievements is not the only potential benefit, for learning takes place not only from the facilitator but also from the conversations and connections the result from people joining together with a common purpose of learning.

Current educational research shows that blended learning is a valuable approach to education. This MOOC is for anyone who has an interest in learning more about how blended approaches may be applied to students in variety of settings. One can go through the course on their own. Or get a group from your school to engage in the MOOC together. Let's learn and grow!
