Project Brainstorming Questions

I am working with my Lights Academy students to identify project topics for second semester work. Some have a clear focus on what they would like to explore but others do not. As part of a brainstorming process, here are questions students are encouraged to answer in the hope that something they share will spur their curiosity. This is the first time I have used this process to help select project work, so we will see how it goes.

Each student is asked to share:
  • 5 things you don't know that you would like to learn
  • 3 problems that need to be solved
  • 3 companies or organizations to study more deeply
  • 5 questions you have about our country, community, and world
  • 3 books you would like to read
  • 3 ways in which you can serve others in a deep and meaningful way
