Authentic Audiences: 4th Grade Bloggers

I came across the following blog post on Wednesday:

http://emanuelgrade4.blogspot.com/2015/01/we-did-it.html?spref=tw

Created by a 4th grade teacher in New York, the purpose of the post was to share blogs created by her students. The blogs are linked on the right side of the page, and the posts contain a wide variety of content.

There is little that is more motivating for a student than the recognition that they have an authentic audience for their work. One way to help students see this is by adding comments with commendations and suggestions for their writing. As an adult, I always enjoy comments that are added to my posts and building conversations with readers. Imagine how much more other students would appreciate this.

CHALLENGE: Comment on a couple of these 4th grade student posts. Let's let these students know that we all support them in their learning and growth!
